Good read: The Way Home by Mary Pride

Just finished this excellent book.  It has not really thrown me into any major thought shifts, but rather more confirmed and affirming the views I hold now in a pretty good and faith building way.  And it has therefore become a good “thought shift” book to communicate the last decade of change wrought in my thinking by the grace of God and help of friends, books and study to an interested third party.

Among the excellent points are the exegesis of 1 Timothy 2:15 (see Saved by Childbearing), Titus 2:3-5 and highlighting of Malachi 2:14-15 which I quote because it is amazing in its forcefulness (emphasis mine):

14 Yet you say, “For what reason?”
Because the LORD has been witness
Between you and the wife of your youth,
With whom you have dealt treacherously;
Yet she is your companion
And your wife by covenant.
15 But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.

Therefore take heed to your spirit,
And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

Wow! Tack that onto Genesis 1:28 and it becomes a very clear. God wants godly offspring, children, lots of them, a whole earth full. But, we fornicate, we pervert, we divorce, we contracept and birth prevent, we abort, we abandon, we daycare, we outsource. “Where are my children?!” God thunders…. God have mercy on us!

Another excellent point was around the link between contraception, careerism for wives and abortion, they are all on the same trajectory of godlessness called feminism. The modern church merrily accommodates the former two while attempting to give battle on the third. But contraception and careerism are anti-child and anti-family, and therefore we foolishly want the Temple of Molech and all its rituals and baubles, but we just don’t want to actually dismember any babies… But dead babies are the point of God-hating witch craft, so for goodness sake get off that trajectory! Let us love our children and our wives and families and love God.

Very interesting was the aspect of the anti-socialism inherent in homeworking mothers, i.e. homeworking mothers are a bulwark against all forms of communism and socialism that being foisted upon us.

This book is now a quarter century old, but still very worth a read. And may God bless you with many children!
